Directions

Winthrop is located on Highway 20 (North Cascades Highway) in north-central Washington.  The North Cascades Highway is a very popular way to arrive and depart Winthrop when coming from the West and heading back to the West.  No matter which direction you are coming from, the year-round scenic views are sure to amaze.

From Seattle Option 1

  • I-5 North to Burlington
  • Hwy 20 East North Cascade Scenic Highway to Winthrop*

From Seattle Option 2

  • I-90 East to CleElum
  • Hwy 970 East to Hwy 97 North
  • Hwy 2 East (& 97 North) to Wenatchee
  • Continue on Hwy 97 North to Pateros
  • Hwy 153 North to Twisp
  • Hwy 20 West to Winthrop

From Seattle Option 3

  • I-5 North to Everett
  • Hwy 2 East to Wenatchee
  • Hwy 97 North to Pateros
  • Hwy 153 North to Twisp
  • Hwy 20 West to Winthrop

FROM SPOKANE

  • Hwy 2 West to Wilbur
  • Hwy 174 West (Grand Coulee & Chief Joseph Dams) to Bridgeport
  • Hwy 17 North to Hwy 97 South to Pateros
  • Hwy 153 North to Twisp
  • Hwy 20 West to Winthrop

From Vancouver Option 1

  • I-5 South to Burlington
  • Hwy 20 East North Cascade Scenic Highway to Winthrop*

From Vancouver Option 2

  • I-5 South to Everett
  • Hwy 2 East to Wenatchee
  • Hwy 97 North to Pateros
  • Hwy 153 North to Twisp
  • Hwy 20 West to Winthrop

FROM OSOOYOS

  • South on Hwy 97 which turns into Hwy 20
  • Continue on Hwy 20 to Winthrop
