Bask in the afternoon sun on your private balcony and observe the serenity of the native wildlife. Sites often include eagles, osprey, hawks, harlequin ducks, doe, and fawn. Rooms also feature hand-crafted furnishings, work of local artists, plush pillow-top mattresses, LED HDTVs, free high-speed WIFI, microwave, refrigerator, hair dryer, coffee bar, ac/heat, and private balconies to take in nature’s beauty.
All room rates are quoted for 2-person occupancy; charges apply for additional people. All rates quoted reflect the average nightly rate. Changing your length of stay will alter the average nightly rate. Payment is due at check-in. We reserve the right to charge for reservations once they have passed the cancellation deadline. All major credit cards are accepted.
We guarantee room type, but not room placement. For example, if you reserve a Riverside King Room, we guarantee you will be placed in a Riverside King Room, but not a specific room number. If you let us know a room number or floor preference ahead of time, we will do our best to accommodate those requests, but cannot guarantee them.
A two-night minimum stay is required on weekends from May – October. All major holiday weekends and Winthrop special event weekends require a two- or three-night minimum stay. If our availability allows for a one-night stay, we may be able to make an exception, please call us at 1-509-996-3535.
Check-in after 3:00 p.m. If you are planning to arrive after 8:00 p.m. please let us know in advance so that we may make arrangements to welcome you.
Check-out by 11:00 a.m. Late check-outs can be arranged through the front desk on the day of your departure. All late check outs are subject to availability and may not be available during peak seasons.

3rd Party Reservations: If you secured a reservation through a booking agency and not directly with Hotel Rio Vista, you must make all changes including cancellations with that booking agency and within their allowable time-frame. All Late cancellations will result in a charge for the full reservation, including taxes. This includes, but is not limited to, reservations made through Booking.com, Expedia, HotelTonight & AirBnB. Hotel Rio Vista is not authorized to cancel or modify these reservations.
Group Reservations: A Group Reservation is defined as 5 or more rooms reserved for an event in common; e.g., wedding, reunion, girls weekend, club event, etc. The reservation can be in multiple names, but this is still considered a group reservation. Notice of cancellation of a group reservation must be made 30-60 days prior to the scheduled arrival date. Late cancellations will result in a charge for the full reservation, including taxes. Please check your driving routes ahead of time, as road closures/detours do not change our cancellation policy.
Standard Cancellation: Reservations booked directly with Hotel Rio Vista that do not also meet the above criteria are subject to the standard cancellation policy. Notice of cancellation must be given 2 days prior to the scheduled arrival date by 3:00 p.m. Late cancellations will result in a charge for the full reservation, including taxes. If a guests conduct incurs the complaints of other guests as a result of disorderly conduct, unlawful activities, violation of smoking or pets policy, or repeated noise complaints; then the offending guests may be evicted and/or receive additional charges to their account. If rooms or other areas of the hotel are damaged, the cost of damages will be charged to the credit card on file.
Belongings left behind by guests will be kept for two weeks. Belongings are disposed or donated after this time period if not claimed by the guest. If you have left an item behind that you would like returned please give us a call at 1-509-996-3535. If your item is located in our Lost & Found, we will ask you to email us a prepaid shipping label to assist in the return process.
Our hotel is not set up to accommodate pets of any kind. A minimum cleaning fee of $250.00 will be charged to the credit card on file of those in violation of this policy. We highly recommend Aspen Kennels (509) 996-3306.
All open flames such as incense, fireworks, turkey grease fryers and barbecues are not allowed on hotel property. Charges will apply to those in violation.
Hotel Rio Vista is a non-smoking facility. Smoking products of any sort is prohibited in all rooms and all private riverside decks. This includes, but is not limited to tobacco, marijuana and all smoke-producing products such as cigars, vaporizers, etc. Please use the designated areas provided at the hotel and stay farther than 25 ft from hotel entrances. A minimum cleaning fee of $250.00 will be charged to the credit card on file if smoking is detected in the room or on room balcony.
Please check your travel routes ahead of time and be prepared for winter driving. Both Steven’s Pass (Hwy 2) and Snoqualmie (I-90) are well maintained by WSDOT. We do not waive the cancellation policy for winter weather driving unless; both passes are closed for 3 hours or more on your scheduled date of arrival. Passes can close anytime of the year for maintenance or weather; however, as long as there is a route open for travel to Winthrop, you will be held responsible for your reservation.
