Hotel Policies

The information you provide will be kept confidential and will be used only to support your customer relationship with us. We have appropriate security measures in place to protect against the loss, misuse, or alteration of information we have collected from you on our website.

Policies, rates and fees are subject to change without notice. By making your reservation you have acknowledged and accepted all policies.

 

Check-In & Check-Out

  • Check-in after 3:00pm. If you are planning to arrive after 7:00pm please let us know in advance so that we can make arrangements to welcome you.
  • Check-out by 11:00am. Requests for late check out are subject to availability and may not be available during peak seasons.

Cancellations, Deposit and Refund Policies

Late cancellations for any reason will result in a charge for the full reservation. Early departures, and no-shows are considered late cancellations and therefore not refundable. Please check your driving routes ahead of time, as road closures/detours do not change cancellation policies. 

  • Holidays & Special Events: Notice of cancellation for all National Holidays & Weekends, and Winthrop Local Events must be made 30 days prior to the scheduled arrival date. Some weekends require a non-refundable deposit. 
  • 3rd Party Reservations: For reservations made through a booking agency or 3rd party website like Booking.com, Expedia, AirBnB, etc., you must make all changes & cancellations with that booking agency and within their allowable timeframe. Hotel Rio Vista is not authorized to cancel or modify these reservations.
  • Group Reservations: A Group Reservation is defined as 5 or more rooms reserved for an event in common, e.g., wedding, reunion, hockey tournament, club event, etc. The reservation can be in multiple names, but this is still considered a group reservation. Notice of cancellation of a group reservation must be made 30 days prior to the scheduled arrival date.  
  • Standard Cancellation: Reservations booked directly with Hotel Rio Vista that do not also meet any of the above criteria are subject to our standard cancellation policy. Notice of cancellation must be given 2 days prior to the scheduled arrival date by 3:00pm

 

RATES, PAYMENTS & MINIMUM STAYS

All room rates are quoted for single/double occupancy and reflect the average nightly rate; charges apply for additional guests. Altering your dates, or length of stay will change the average nightly rate. A valid credit card is required at the time of booking. If your credit card is determined to be invalid at any time, your reservation may be forfeited. Payment is due at check-in. All rooms are subject to Local Sales & Occupancy Tax. We reserve the right to charge reservations once they have passed the cancellation deadline. A two-night minimum stay is generally required on Friday and Saturday nights. A three-night minimum stay is required for certain holidays/events. Please call to see if our availability allows for a single-night stay on your desired date.

 

HOT TUB

Our riverside hot tub is available by reservation. Reservations can be made at the front desk or by calling up to 2 weeks prior to your stay.  It is open from 10am to 10pm and can be booked for a 30-minute session each day of your stay. Children under the age of 16 must always be accompanied by an adult. 

 

ROAD CLOSURES & WEATHER 

Annually, North Cascade Highway (US20) closes from mid-November through mid-April. However, both US2 (Steven’s Pass) and I90 (Snoqualmie Pass) are well maintained by WSDOT.  We do not waive cancellation fees for road closures, fire, mudslides, snow, etc. unless both US2 & I90 passes are closed for 4 hours or more on your scheduled date of arrival. For best routes, road conditions and pass reports check the WSDOT website.

 

PETS

Our hotel does not allow pets of any kind. A minimum cleaning fee of $250.00 will be charged to the credit card on file of those in violation of this policy. We highly recommend our Aspen Kennels (509) 996-3306.

SMOKING & OPEN FLAME

Our property is 100% non-smoking except in the designated areas where tobacco smoking is permitted only. Smoking is not allowed inside rooms, on private decks, or on front walkways. A $250 fee will be charged to the card on file if evidence of smoking is detected. Open flames such as incense/candles, fireworks, propane fire pits, and barbecues are not allowed on hotel property.  

 

GUEST CONDUCT

For the comfort of all guests, this hotel has “Quiet Time” between the hours of 10pm and 8am. We ask our guests to be respectful, especially as noise carries from the riverside decks. If a guest’s conduct incurs the complaints of other guests because of disorderly conduct, unlawful activities, violation of smoking or pet policy, destruction of property, or repeated noise complaints, the offending guests may be evicted and/or receive additional charges to the credit card on file in order to compensate disrupted guests and recover damages.

 

LOST & FOUND

Belongings left behind by guests will be kept for two weeks. After this time, unclaimed items will be donated. If you left behind an item you would like returned, please call. If your item is located, we require you to email a prepaid shipping label to assist in the return process.
